Chinoiserie Papers » Mandalay Garden

Mandalay Garden is an old design, that allows for a strong contrast of foreground and background design colors. In the foreground, colorful small and large peony flowers stand in front of a monochromatic garden of bamboo or fruit tree. The subtle interplay of monochromatic shades is accented by the presence of white heron, red song bird, or blue peacock at bottom of panels, and allows for the design offset to pop from the walls in an authentic 18th Century fashion. The bamboo version shows above in sequence, while the fruit tree version shows at the bottom of page.

Mandalay Garden – Fruit Tree Version

As a design option – it is also possible to swap out the bamboo trees in the background of the Mandalay Garden design, for flowering fruit trees that sweep across the upper quadrant of panels, in monochromatic stylishness.
