Five Kingdoms is a treatment of Han Xizai’s original scroll painting from the 10th Century. It is a narrative design that explores Chinese antiquity, and in wide brush strokes depicts life in the 5 Dynasties 10 Kingdoms era. The panels are designed with cracking “wabi-sabi” lines, and weathered visages to created an effect of aged patina. The design works surprisingly well as a background juxtaposition to modern and contemporary decors.
